The complex roof with four large dormers dictated traditional 2x12 framing. However, the entire 12” depth of the rafter cavities was filled with ½ pound spray foam insulation. When the insulation was installed in the middle of the summer, the daytime attic temperatures dropped dramatically, and it became a favorite lunch spot for the construction crew.
