In 2008, a new Saltbox Home built by BPC won one of the first annual awards from The Connecticut Green Building Council for its “Intriguing Design”.

LEED for Homes
In 2007, BPC completed a New Contemporary Home that participated in the pilot phase of the LEED for Homes certification program, offered by the US Green Building Council. The home was certified at the silver level. (If the home had been slightly smaller, it would have earned certification at the gold level.)

American Lung Association Health House
In 2000, BPC completed a new, Super-Insulated Home in Roxbury, becoming the first and only builder in Connecticut to complete a home that meets the rigorous requirements of the ALA Health House program.
This national program has pulled together the expertise of top building scientists to establish criteria for every aspect of a home’s construction and operation to ensure high standards for indoor air quality, as well as other performance qualities including energy efficiency.

2004 Best Energy Efficient/Green Home in Connecticut
BPC won for a new Four-Square Victorian Reproduction Home in Redding. This award is sponsored by the Connecticut Home Builders Association.
2006 Best Energy Efficient/Green Home in Connecticut
BPC won for a new Saltbox Home in Norfolk. This award is sponsored by the Connecticut Home Builders Association.

Energy Star Certification
All of the homes that BPC has built or renovated have been rated and certified to meet the ENERGY STAR criteria. In fact, all have exceeded the criteria substantially.

Note: Until September of 2007, BPC Green Builders, LLC was known as Building Performance Construction Services, LLC. Articles and awards from before then will refer to the company as Building Performance Construction Services, though in some cases for clarity we may refer to ourselves as BPC Green Builders, even when referring to material from before the name change. |
